Welcome November!

Sorry!  I've missed two posts because I've been so busy!  Here's what's going on this week.  Please also check your child's homework for notes for the week.

Language Arts:  Our new focus skills are sequencing and determining text importance, or deciding what the author really, really wants us to pay attention to.  The students are also beginning to write 2 sentences in their journal this week and are continuing to work on using letter sounds when spelling words.

Math:  We have started our new unit which will take us through the end of November.  The unit is on Numbers and counting.  I have some fun activities planned for this unit. This week we will focus on the numbers 0-6.

Science:  The unit on the 4 seasons will end this week with our culminating activity:  building bird houses to help birds during all seasons.

Social Studies:  Today, we celebrated Election Day early.  The students voted on which was better:  chips or popcorn. They had alot of fun visiting the voting booth and campaigning for their canidate.

Notes:  On Friday, the PTA will host Movie Night.  There will be snacks on sale.  Come out and watch Rio!
