Welcome Back!

Welcome back!  I hope everyone had a nice Spring Break.  This week starts the 4th and final quarter of the school year.  Wow! Time has sure flown by.  Here's what's going on this week in Kindergarten:

Language Arts:  The comprehension skill is predicting.  We will also continue to work on identifying what is important in a text and will work on grammar skills of capitalization and punctuation. Students will also work on writing bigger and longer sentences.

Math:  This week starts our measurement unit.  This week, students will work on measuring length  using non-standard units (cubes, paper clips, etc) and on comparing lengths using direct comparison.  On Monday, we will participate in a long jump contest and will compare our jumps.

Science:  This week, we will start a unit on water on matter. This week, we will learn about solid, liquid, and gas.  We will also be doing some fun experiments to figure out what direction water flows and how water can change from a solid to a liquid to a gas.  It should be lots of fun!
