The Polar Pals are Coming!

Goodness!  This seems like it is going to be such a short week with today off and early release days on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  There are still lots of fun things planned this week.  The Polar Pals will also be coming to visit our class. The polar pals are a penguin and walrus.  Your child may bring one home this week or next.  Please have fun with your pal and then write up what you did in the Polar Pal Journal.  Let's have a great week!

Language Arts:  We will be reviewing comprehension strategies all week.  The strategies that are the focus are identifying story elements, character traits, and main idea and detail.  The letter of the week will be R.  In writing, we will be learning how to edit our papers for spelling and punctuation.

Math:  This week is all about graphing.  Students will be making picture and object graphs and answering questions about their graphs.

Key Vocab.:  Graph, more, less, the same

Social Studies:  This week is a review week.  We will talking about Martin Luther King Jr. and will make maps for students who are new to MES.  

Notes:  Don't forget there will be no school next Monday.
