Happy Valentine's Week!

This is shaping up to be a fun week in Kindergarten.  Monday is the 100th day and we will celebrate Valentine's Day on Friday.  Monday should be very exciting with the arrival of 100 balloons and other "100" activities all day long.  Here's more details about the week:

Language Arts:  We will be working on using lower case letters in writing and reviewing what a noun is. Students will also continue working on the skill of summarizing and monitor-fix up.

Math:  We will be counting to 100 all week long.  Students will count by 5's and 10's and by 1's to 100.  Students will also make groups of 5 and 10 blocks to help with counting.  We will also be going on a pattern hunt with 100 charts to find any patterns we can use when counting.

Science:  We will wrap up our unit on Shadows this week with a couple of fun inquiry experiments.  Students will discover if they can make a colored shadow and what happens to shadows when light is close to or far away from the object.

Notes:  Please have your child bring in their valentines on Friday.  We will do a card exchange then.  Don't forget to send in your 100th day item tomorrow.
